Melanie Webber is a certified wine educator, sommelier, writer and communications expert who helps wine industry professionals achieve their wine certifications and wine lovers deepen their appreciation and understanding of wine. At the core of everything Melanie does is her passion to make it fun to learn how to taste, assess and enjoy wine.

Melanie’s most important wine credential is a love of wine—and everything and everyone that glass of grape juice represents. She has a deep desire to share the joy of wine discovery with a ‘no-snobs-allowed’ approach that her students, tasters, and wine labels appreciate. She also holds the globally-recognized Diploma in Wine and Spirits from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), as well as the French Wine Scholar certification from the French Wine Society. Whether you're just getting started with wine or work in the industry, Melanie is your go-to for expanding your wine knowledge.
The curriculum for WSET’s world class certifications is top notch and rigorous, but Melanie makes the learning accessible, fun and engaging, all while ensuring a depth of understanding. Melanie’s classes are essential learning for anyone who is serious about expanding their wine education as well as for those who love wine, but also want to keep it real.
As the owner of a distillery in Asheville, I am always interested in learning more about the drinks business so I took Melanie Webber’s seminars 'Tasting Like a Pro' and 'Food and Wine Pairing' offered by the Asheville School of Wine. Not only did I learn key tasting tips, but it has helped up my food and wine pairing game – and the range of wines was fantastic. Melanie’s 'no snobs allowed' teaching makes everyone feel comfortable and her wine knowledge is impressive. Her classes are entertaining, engaging, clear and informative and I encourage Asheville food and wine professionals and wine lovers alike to take her classes.
